The Central Nebraska Humane Society is this week’s featured animal shelter on PetravelR’s™ Adopt a Friend, and it’s time to meet some of their wonderful pets in need of forever homes!
Hello there! I’m Roosevelt, a 3-year old male rat. Did you know that rats are clean and very smart? I’m the perfect apartment pet!
Hi hi hi! I am Artemis, a 2-year-old female Pit Bull mix, brought to the shelter when my owner could not properly care for me. As you can imagine, I am energetic, smart and could benefit from some formal training. I seem to be mostly deaf, so I will need special training. One of the wonderful volunteers here at the shelter has been working with me on learning sign language, and I seem to be doing very well! I am looking for a family that is willing to continue my training and understands that I will need a place to get out my puppy energy. Due to my deafness and tendency to play rough, I’m hoping to find a home without infants or toddlers. I also need a home with no cats. If you’ve got other four-legged or two-legged babies at home and are interested in meeting me, bring everybody into the shelter!
Hello new family! I’m Nico, a 2-year-old male Bengal mix cat. I’m what you’d call a medium sized house cat. And yes, I do have the most beautiful eyes. Adopt me and you can admire me all day long while I purr for you!
Hi!! My name is Popeye! I came to the humane society as a surrender. My previous owner left me with a family member but unfortunately never came to get me so that is why I am here at the shelter. I am a little shy when I first meet new people but give me a few minutes and I will come out of my shell. I am super sweet and love to cuddle! I seem to get along well with other dogs but would be best in a home with no cats or kids under 13. Please come meet me today you will be glad you did!!
Hello! My name is Suzy! I’m a gorgeous domestic medium hair mix female cat. I’m only 9 months old. I’m a small cat, or what we like to call “lap size.” Wouldn’t you love to take me home with you?
The Central Nebraska Humane Society (CNHS) was established in 1967, by volunteers dedicated to the welfare of animals in the community. CNHS is located in the northeast corner of Grand Island, Nebraska. Annually, over 2,500 animals are handled. The organization is staffed with dedicated, compassionate and trained employees, as well as volunteers that assist and enjoy a wide range of involvement from helping with special care needs, fostering, promotional events and educational programs.
PetravelR™ urges you to support your local shelters and rescues by adopting, volunteering, and donating. And remember that spaying and neutering helps reduce overpopulation and makes your pets better family member!
