Leith Petwerks Bunny Abode Condos

As the official* Adopt a Rescue Rabbit Month draws to an end, we wanted to feature another great bunny product on this week’s pet gear blog: the Bunny Abode line of homes for your companion animal from Leith Petwerks.

leith condosThe wonderful folks at Leith Petwerks - who are bunny people themselves – have designed a spacious luxury living environment with your pet’s best interests in mind. These Bunny Abode homes are durable and stylish, allowing them to integrate well into your home. Most house rabbits enjoy their Bunny Abode home so much that when given free ability to roam, they play outside the Bunny Abode home for a while, then choose to return to their Bunny Abode home on their own, relaxing in their own personal space. Bunny Abode homes are designed to last for years and to accommodate almost every sized rabbit.

Okay, so these condos don’t actually qualify as travel gear, but they do have casters so that you can roll them around your house!

It’s World Spay Day, So Don’t Be a Dick!

It’s the 21st Annual World Spay Day!

Don't Be a Dick
World Spay Day is an annual campaign of the Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society International, and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association.  On the last Tuesday of every February, these organizations and many other animal shelters and rescues shine a spotlight on the lifesaving power of spay/neuter and the need for affordable services, particularly in underserved communities.  Spay/neuter is an effective and humane way to save animals’ lives. However, affordable services are out of reach for many pet owners, and funding is always needed to spay and neuter community (feral and stray) cats and street dogs.

world spay day 2015 logo

aspca neuter

And remember it’s not just about dogs and cats – even Pope Francis knows that rabbits will breed like, well, rabbits if they aren’t spayed/neutered.

PetravelR™ asks you to please spay and neuter your pets.  And consider making a donation to your local spay/neuter clinic or animal shelter to help reduce pet overpopulation and save lives.

You can also voice your support for spay/neuter with this great t-shirt from the Humane Society of Columbiana County, Ohio!

Sioux Falls Animals Need Forever Homes!

Here are some more wonderful animals from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, featured this week on PetravelR’s™ Adopt a Friend.

Allie - 3 month old female domestic short hair

Allie – 3 month old female domestic short hair

Hello! My name is Allie and I was surrendered to the shelter with two of my siblings because our owner couldn’t keep all of us. I might be a little timid at first so please give me time to warm up to you. I am an indoor kitten who loves to play and was used to the two dogs in the home as well. I did not live with children, however I am sure I can get used to kids. I would love to be part of a family that has time for me and that can give me a loving home! I will still need to be spayed, but I am microchipped, frontlined, and started on my vaccinations.

Arnold - 2 year old male

Arnold – 2 year old male

Hi, I’m Arnold! I’ve got a little bit of attitude, but I am a very sweet boy! I am not a real fan of being held, but I love to sit on your lap and let you pet me. I love snacking on timothy hay and of course some fresh veggies like carrots, red peppers etc! I need to have my nails trimmed at least one every two weeks, and my cage should be cleaned on a weekly basis. Why not adopt me today!

Vinnie - 2 year old male Labrador

Vinnie – 2 year old male Labrador

Hi, My name is Vinnie! I was brought to the shelter as a stray as was never claimed. So little is known about my previous life. Since my time at the shelter I’ve shown that I am a very sweet boy! I do have lots and lots of energy, so a home with lots of room for me to run and play is recommended. I also pull on my leash, so a well fit harness would help with this. It’s unknown how I would be around other animals. If you have another dog in the home, lets do a meet and greet to see how we do. Because I have so much energy, a home with children over the age of 7 is required. I seem to know “sit” but I may need some training with other commands. I love treats; especially rawhides. Although I am not neutered, I am micro-chipped, had an application of frontline, and I am started on my vaccinations. Come see me today!

Sioux Falls, SD Adoptables!

PetravelR™ is currently featuring the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society on Adopt a Friend, and we wanted to introduce some of their very adoptable animals who are looking for forever homes -

Houdini - 7 month old male Californian

Houdini – 7 month old male Californian

Hi there, I am Houdini! I was brought to the shelter because my owner abandoned me with a friend and never came back for me. I am a sweet boy and I do not mind being held or petted. I earned my name for a reason, I am a bit of an escape artist. I have lived with guinea pigs, and I seem to tolerate them. I am used to eating a quality rabbit pellet and timothy hay. I enjoy fresh veggies as treats! I will need my nails trimmed when they get to long and my cage cleaned at least twice weekly. I will also need interaction outside of my cage daily. Will you help me find a forever home

Rory - 4 year old female Domestic Short Hair

Rory – 4 year old female Domestic Short Hair

Hi. My name is Rory. I came to the shelter as a stray and was never claimed by my owner. Now I’m looking for my “fur”-ever home. I’m a very sweet girl and I love to be petted. I like giving affection as well as getting it. I do like to explore my world. I have all my claws, so I would love a cat scratching post! I should do well with supervised children of all ages. Here at the shelter it seems that I’m not fond of other cats, so it may be best if I’m the only cat in the home. It’s unknown if I have lived with dogs so it may take me some time to adjust to any you have. I’m already spayed, microchipped, frontlined, and started on vaccinations. Come and meet me today!

Faith - 2 year old female Terrier Mix

Faith – 2 year old female Terrier Mix

Hi. My name is Faith. I came to the shelter from a rescue group. Not much is known about my previous life. I’m a very sweet girl. I have a lot of energy. I don’t walk on a leash that well yet, so I’ll need some training. It’s unknown if I am housetrained. Please make sure that you will have plenty of time to train and exercise me once you bring me home. I should do well with supervised children of all ages. If you have any dogs at home already, please bring them to meet me before adoption to make sure that we get along. It’s unknown how I feel about cats. I don’t know what my favorite toys or treats are, but I’m sure we can figure those out together! I’m not yet spayed, but I am microchipped, frontlined, and started on vaccinations. Won’t you bring me home with you?
